The Arizona state law brought radical change to the state of Arizona. The law is like a stone thrown into a still pond where slowly but surely the waters move and the vibrations are felt throughout the entire pond. For my perspective project I am going to show how the law is beneficial but at the same time harming. The law is beneficial because the legal immigrants will no longer have to pay for the healthcare of illegal immigrants. Also all of the criminals in jail or in prison will be deported, and tax paying Americans do not have to pay for their security. Both of these situations will help save money. The jobs that the illegal immigrants had will be replaced by legal aliens. Therefore, the unemployment will go down. On the other side I will explain how the law supports racial profiling and encourages harassment. Basically the police enforcement in the state of Arizona will be able to question anyone who does not seem to be a legal resident or citizen. Even if that person is legal but does not show proof of their legal status then they will be charged with a misdemeanor. My solution would be to allow the illegal immigrants who can prove that have had a steady job and have no criminal history obtain their residency papers. On the other hand those who enter the United States illegally should be sent to their country automatically. Securing the borders with the army and navy is much more effective tan simply the police enforcement. I will research who exactly is in charge of securing the border and what is the consequence of entering illegally. In addition, I will address issues such as social security, taxes, healthcare, education, business, and psychological problems. There will be medium in my project of how to modify the Arizona State Law so that it can be adopted throughout the United States.
